I’m a car dweller, not homeless

My life is miserable because I live in my car and my plan to save money to upgrade to a van is sad and insane? Saving money is wrong? I heard it all today from an Obamaniod with an AA in phychology from a community college. I was constantly talking about Bill of Rights, Constitution, Austrian Economics, and Freedom and he asked if I was one of those TEA Party people, which I said after the neocons invaded the movement I am leaving. He said TEA Party people slash tires on state worker cars and it was a good idea I was getting away from that violent group.
He continued with telling me these (forgot the name) meds for seizures worked for bipolar and they were cheap. I thought, damn rat poison at WalMart is cheap too! Anyways, further on he suggested I quit my job so I could suck the Medicaid tit too. I kept my cool, and he set up an appointment with Voc Rehab for me. Insane, insane, insane…

My Bug Out Vehicle

In my BOV (actually my every day vehicle). There is 7 gallons of water, 30lb propane tank, two one pound propane tanks, big food cooler, two cold weather sleeping bags, one large tarp, tent, three knives, a crank LED flash light, a battery lantern LED, Duracell 600watt backup powersupply/led light/radio/jump start/12v port/three AC ports (*coming soon, like next week), 150watt inverter, laptop, ipod shuffle, Verizon Mobile broadband, cell phone, VHF hand-held radio, clothing, toiletries, 50 books of matches, 10 lighters, binoculars, Stihl chainsaw 20″ Farm Boss, and tools and oil and fuel additive and this and that…cooking stuff…propane stove, 5 gallons of reserve fuel…Yeah, I really do live in my Subaru.

What I don’t have: a decent BOB. While I do have a backpack, it’s old and the zippers are failing. I don’t carry a gun, but am thinking of geocaching a good rifle, shootgun, and reserve ammo in the mountains somewhere in the case of social breakdown. Am I nuts? Sure, but it’s better not to caught with your pants down in a SHTF social collapse. Think Haiti.

Let’s Talk Weather

So, after sobering up a bit, departed the top of the mountain at MacDonald Pass. Turned off Highway 12 on Rimini RD, and before the ghost town of Rimini, went down a forest service road where I found a creekside “camping” area. About 3:00am I awoke to six inches of snow, but glad I left the steep mountain (4X4 driving) with deep potholes and rocks. Snow was heavy and I could barely see the road. The rest of the week is clear though.
